[OS X Emacs] ESS toolbar configuration in Aquamacs

Hi MacOSX Emacs experts,

I have just upgraded to Aquamacs 3.0a

When I upgraded I lost the toolbar configuration that I had in ESS mode (i.e. when viewing .r or .R files).

I tried reconfiguring and then tried

Options / Appearance / Adopt Face and Frame Parameters as Default

followed by

Options / Save Options


However, when I restart emacs the ESS mode goes back to the default configuration in the toolbar.

I am working on a mac pro running OSX v. 10.8.5 Mountain Lion.

I would appreciate any suggestions of how I can make the ESS toolbar stick?
