The problem seems to get worse the longer the document is. If I turn on line numbering, and the last lines are at the bottom of the window, the lines at the bottom of the window won't be numbered. Scrolling the display to bring the last lines more toward the middle of the window will cause the unnumbered lines to get numbered. Has anybody else observed issues similar to these?

Hi, Smith. That is indeed strange behavior! I haven’t seen anything like it, including on my Catalina (10.15.4) system.

Does it happen on any file, or just on particular kinds? What kinds of documents are you using?

Does it happen if you start Aquamacs without any customizations? You can do that from the Aquamacs Help menu->Diagnose and Report a Bug->Try Aquamacs without customizations. This starts a new instance of Aquamacs without quitting the one you are using.

Best,
- Win
