That's not specific to BoxedEPS, I have been getting the same error 
message as soon as I moved to the last beta-teTeX (now the new version). 
I did not report, as I wasn't sure the problem was reproducible.

One thing I noticed: I only get this message in TeX + GhostScript mode. 
Maybe an incorrect treatment of EOL characters in PS files?
