OK, I tried on a Titanium G4 877 MHz and it works reasonably fast.

I had another problem: when I open an existing file it messes up the 
encoding: I did not find how to select the encoding of a file, maybe 
it's not possible, in fact.

It does look cool, I have not seen yet the obvious advantage it would 
have compared to iTeXMac.
