[OS X TeX] font removal?

Hi

Yesterday I successfully installed a metafont font on my laptop, but 
today I tried to do the same on my desktop but something went wrong, 
and now I can’t get it right and latex complains:
Metric (TFM) file not found.
After misplacing (and replacing) the font files I refreshed the 
filename database with the sudo texhash command, but nothing seems to 
help, so now I wonder how I make  my installation forget all about the 
font I tried to install and start all over.
