[OS X TeX] Hidden .PfaEdit folder

I have the gw2003 TeX installation, and there's a hidden folder, 
.PfaEdit, in my home directory.  I assume it's related to the pfaedit 
i-package.  The folder is owned by the system, and I have no access.  I 
changed the owner to myself to look inside, and the folder was empty.  
Does anyone know why the folder is there and whether I can safely 
delete it?  I'd appreciate any information.  Thanks!
