hi.
i hope this is not too off-topic, but this list is amazingly helpful,
so i hope somebody might have a solution and be willing to help.
i'm bundeling several papers in pdf-fomat into a large pdf-file for a
conference proceedings volume. i'm using pdflatex and pdfpages.sty.
one of the papers was written in latex and uses mathtimes. for this
file, acrobat reader says under document properties/fonts:
....
MTSYN (Embedded Subset)
Type: Type 1
Encoding: Custom
.....
when i try to embed the paper with \includepdf, i get the following
message:
Warning: pdflatex (file mtsyn.pfb): cannot open Type 1 font file for
reading
(i don't have the yandy fonts)
when i then open the newly created file in acrobat reader, i get the
following error message:
Cannot find or create the font 'MTSYN'. Some characters may not display
or print correctly.
in fact, in acrobat some brackets display as dots. (in preview, btw,
everything works fine, and the characters display correctly.)
any help or hints as to how i can fix this would be greatly
appreciated. i don't have to have the fonts that are embedded in the
pdfs that i embed with pdfpages, do i?
thanks in advance,
jan
ps. here is a mini .tex-file i used (the regular one adds headers,
blank pages, etc, but this one is enough to run into the font problem):
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{pdfpages}
\begin{document}
\includepdf[pages={-}]{paper.pdf}
\end{document}
