[OS X TeX] latex2rtf

Latex2rtf can't handle the simple command
\providecommand{\bysame}{\leavevmode\hbox to3em{\hrulefill}\thinspace}

Of the four commands used in the definition it only recognizes \hbox

Warning line=11 Command \leavevmode not found - ignored
Warning line=11 Command \hrulefill not found - ignored
Warning line=11 Command \thinspace not found - ignored


Does anyone know how to teach it an equivalent of \bysame.
