i-Package update. Was: [OS X TeX] [Announcement] New Fourier-GUT

A probably silly question: doing the update this morning, I am noticing 
the TeX i-Package has installed a directory 
/usr/local/teTeX/share/lcdf-typetools. Does this mean the LCDF 
Typetools i-Package should also be installed by default with the TeX 
i-Package? And, if the LCDF i-Package is installed after the TeX 
i-Package, won't this replace more recent LCDF-related files from the 
TeX i-Package by older files from LCDF i-Package?
