LCDF Typetools are part of th erecent TeX Live and thus part of my
redistribution. Last time I looked, my separate i-Package still had a more
recent version. The TeX i-Package installs them in
/usr/local/teTeX/bin/.... while my i-Package install in /usr/local/bin

As far as I know, there are no adverse effects of having both, though the
order in your PATH may define which one you do get. There is not much I
can do about that. This is a bit messy because TeX includes non-TeX
things.
