[OS X TeX] Another Tigerrrr ``Feature?''

Howdy,

Recently I've had a Recovered Documents (or Files?) folder with the  
contents of /var/tmp/folders.myUID/ in my ~/Trash/ folder at boot/ 
login. I don't ever remember that before. Is this a new behavior  
under Tigerrrr? Wasn't the traditional folder for temporary files / 
tmp/myUID/?

I believe LaTeXiT puts its temporary files there as well as TeXShop  
if it is given a (tex or dvi) file in a non-writable folder.
