Hopefully Daniel can give answers to the majority of your questions, 
but yes, this should be true. AlphaX does not need or use Tk at all. 
The Tcl libraries that are needed or recommended are indeed shipped 
with Tiger (TclAE, TclApplescript, TclResource, TclX, ...).
