Hi,
The problem is that there's no SpotLight importer other than LaTeX
MDIMporter, which requires yaced (Yet Another Carbon Emacs
Distribution) <http://yaced.sourceforge.net/>.
As it happens, a thread on this topic has just appeared on the OS X
TeX list, see <http://tug.org/pipermail/macostex-archives/2005-
November/thread.html#18629>.
Sorry for the late answer, I've been away for a few days' holiday (it
felt so fine to be back to London and Cambridge) and just got through
the 500 accumulated email messages. That said, I prefer people not to
contact me personally, and generally answer with "sorry, I can't
help, please ask the community on the OS X TeX mailing list instead".
