On the homepage of TeXniscope you may find the following list:

    Known issues:

    Any shortcoming of dvipdfmx: e.g. cannot handle pstricks specials.
    Syncronization is not available when the external distiller is used.

I guess the first point may (or may not) answer your question. You can 
try dvipdfmx on the file directly to find out.
