[OS X TeX] fonts into ~/texmf or into /texmf?

Yes. And I've found the failure. There was a corrupt file ~/Library/ 
texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg that could not be overwritten or modified.  
I've deleted it and run updmap and now all works fine.
