A user was kind enough to provide me with a file to reproduce the  
issue; it probably won't occur unless your encoding is set to ASCII,  
but it's fixed for the next nightly build (BibDesk-20060201.dmg).   
Apologies for the cross-post, but I don't want to be inundated with  
large PDF files.
