[OS X TeX] utf8 / texlive

Hello

In the documentation of texlive 2005, i find this:

"By the way, with Unicode input, TEX may output partial
  character sequences when showing error contexts,
  since it is byte-oriented."

I use tetex 3 ,all my files are encoding with  utf8 and
  i use \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}.
I did not  have a problem (perhaps that I did not see them)

Do you know some examples to illustrate the next sentence?

"TEX may output partial  character sequences when
  showing error contexts"
