Martin, I followed your advice, and - it really works! After years of  
failures my first sense of achievement concerning fonts and LaTeX.
Thanks to Bruno, Peter and Georg, too.

The glyphs are very wide spreaded , arev seems to be created for use  
with beamers or similar.

A question, many prompt and helpful answers, a solution - this list  
is great!
