It's a bit odd -- my old environment file used to work well until  
recently. However, I moved it and recreated the plist with Apple's  
Property List editor, and it turns out that the new file has a  
slightly different XML version and doctype. This new file seems to  
function, so I guess Apple must have changed things at some stage.
