[OS X TeX] TeXShop and .cfg configuration files

I'm happy to have you guys debate the pros and cons of Spotlight, and 
how to find hidden files, all you wish, but:

1)  The Finder Find command in Panther, which is what I'm on, can of 
course find "Invisible" files just fine, and I've done so on occasion 
-- but my understanding is, if files are installed as invisible, it's 
usually for a reason: namely it's probably a lot better for people 
like me not to mess with those files at all -- and I'm very happy not 
to!!

2)  And, are "invisible" and "Hidden" files the same thing?  Another 
of those bits of information I have not idea about -- and again am 
very happy NOT to!

3)  And, I've personally never yet used the Terminal (though I do 
know have a pretty clear idea of what it is) -- it's not what I 
bought a Mac to do!
