Howdy,

I think Bruno has it right here, except you should add

--distiller="ps2pdf13 -dAutoRotatePages=/None"

to the end of the two simpdftex commands in TeXShop->Preferences- 
 >Engine->TeX+dvips+distiller commands. That should, by default, tell  
simpdftex to use the standard distiller (ps2pdf13) with the  
parameter. I'd try that.
