Hello,
Here is an possible bug of the full TeXLive2006 redistribution of
MacTeX. Out of curiosity (most of times I don't use TeX+dvips), I
compile a LaTeX document, via TeXShop, with the TeX+Ghostscript
engine (TeX+dvips+ps2pdf). The result is always a pdf document
(almost) without margins! While everything works flawlessly with pdfTeX.
I tried to enter "sudo texconfig-sys paper a4" in the Terminal, as
advised by the MacTeX installer package. Without results.
After some research, I managed to solve the problem by entering in
the Terminal:
sudo texconfig-sys dvips paper a4
Now both pdfTeX and TeX+Ghostscript give the same result for the same
document.
Hence it seems that the "texconfig-sys paper" utility works only for
pdfTeX, and does not configure dvips. You have to be more precise and
use "texconfig-sys dvips paper" to configure dvips ...
