A problem with the current MacTeX packages is that they don't run  
mktexlsr or updmap following installation. Hence:

- Because mktexlsr is not run, any local addition you may have put  
inside /usr/local/texlive/texmf-local/ won't be seen.

- Because updmap is not run, any map file you may have added yourself  
(through updmap(-sys) --enable Map whatever.map) and which is indeed  
present inside updmap.cfg won't be taken into account: the global map  
files psfonts.map, pdftex.map etc. installed by MacTeX don't  
correspond to your customized updmap.cfg (most likely /usr/local/ 

Because of that, I run mktexlsr and updmap after each TeXLive-2007  

	sudo mktexlsr
	sudo -H updmap-sys

I'm not sure that is the problem you're facing, but that's a
