Here you would need to use more 'TeX like' names (ptmr8t.tfm,

Make your old PostScript font files available to the Mac OS X system!
Then you could use XeTeX/XeLaTeX. FontBook (create a group for them)
can give you the PostScript family names needed by XeTeX to access
and use the fonts.
