[OS X TeX] Running MakeIndex

Greetings
I cant find how to use MakeIndex or any equivalent for generating a  
LaTeX index on a Mac Intel computer with Mac OS 10.4.

I tried MakeIndex of MacOS 8.6 but apparently Rossetta did not  
convert it.

I would appreciate any help you can give me.
