Howdy,

Just curious... could you have something in your personal tree; ~/ 
Library/texmf/ if you're using MacTeX or gwTeX or, I believe, ~/texmf  
with a bare TeX Live distribution?

In compiling a file, with ot without \include's, it is TeX that is  
doing the work, not TeXShop. Are you talking about something else  
besides compiling?

I have zero experience with mpost so I may be way off the mark here.
