Assuming that the directory does exist, the Disk Utilities' Repair
Permissions will not know about it or what the permissions should be.
I would open a Terminal and do
ls -l ~/Users/.texlive2007/texmf-var/fonts/tfm
to investigate what the permissions are on both your new and your old
desktop.
You can use
chown -R derbes:derbes ~/Users/.texlive2007/
on your new Mac to make sure that the user and group permissions are
all set to "derbes" in that folder, as well.
