[OS X TeX] Skim and the Apple Remote (slightly OT)

Sorry if this is well known, but I just accidentally found this, so I  
am passing it on: Skim can make use of the Apple Remote *without  
additional software*.

For those of us who us who make our own presentations in LaTeX, being  
able to use our very own Apple Remote is quite handy.

Ever since I first got my MBP, I used to rely on Mira to define the  
adequate profiles for TeXShop or Adobe Reader so that I could use the  
remote on talks and classes.
Mira has not been updated for a while and has issues under Leopard, so  
I was (reluctantly) testing RemoteBuddy as a possible alternative.  
FWIW, RemoteBuddy and Mira are very different in their approach to the  
same thing: making the Apple Remote available to control any  
application you want. Mira is very simple and mac-like and does not  
get in your way; RemoteBuddy can do anything and everything, but it is  
far more complex to setup and use.

When testing back and forth I suddenly realized that Skim was  
adequately capturing the button presses on my remote, even when RB was  
not on... it turns out this is a documented feature of the software,  
but AFAICT not many people seemed to know about it.
