[OS X TeX] getnonfreefonts

well, getnonfreefonts has called updmap, but then the situation gets
funny.


BlackAdder:dvips mocenigo$ kpsewhich ua1.map
/Users/mocenigo/Library/texmf/fonts/map/dvips/ua1/ua1.map

this means the map file is in my local tree. in fact
(some) font files are here

texput.log	ua1b8a.pfb	ua1bi8a.pfb	ua1r8a.pfb	ua1ri8a.pfb

note that there are more tfm files

so maybe LaTeX is trying to find a different file? I am not sure.  
ua1.map contains only following entries

ua1r8r A030-Reg " TeXBase1Encoding ReEncodeFont " <8r.enc <ua1r8a.pfb
ua1b8r A030-Bol " TeXBase1Encoding ReEncodeFont " <8r.enc <ua1b8a.pfb
ua1ri8r A030-Ita " TeXBase1Encoding ReEncodeFont " <8r.enc <ua1ri8a.pfb
ua1bi8r A030-BolIta " TeXBase1Encoding ReEncodeFont " <8r.enc  
<ua1bi8a.pfb

however, when I issue the updmap commands, the result is weird

NOTHING is done upon disabling AND enabling? This puzzles me!
