[OS X TeX] Stymied by updmap-sys; what's going on?

Peter,

The other lines in the map file tmm-pea.map are below.

I've compared the tmmath fonts with mathptmx fonts and while the  
mathptmx fonts are acceptible
(especially since they are free), I find the tmmmath fonts more  
consistent and pleasing to the eye
in conjunction with the Times Roman font family.

Thanks again for putting up with my ignorance :-)
