[OS X TeX] LaTeXiT! problem

I do see some of the same issues you do, though I do get correct
output from latexit. To investigate what's going on, I suggest the
following.
1. Copy latexit-1.pdf, latexit-1.tex and latexit-1-2.tex in the
temporary folder to another folder . Does latexit-1.pdf display a
typeset $\pi$?
2. Take a at latexit-1-2.tex. Edit the papersize parameters so that
each is followed by pt. This will get rid of the Illegal unit of
measure error messages.
3. I do get the error message 'Option `bb' does not make sense' from
pdftex.def, and when I try to run pdftex on latexit-1-2.tex, I get no
visible output.
4. If I modify latexit-1-2.tex to remove all parameters from
\includegraphics*, so that the line reads simply
\includegraphics*{latexit-1.pdf}
then I get output with a visible $\pi$, but incorrect size.
Perhaps you should post the contents of latexit-1-2.tex and
latexit-1.pdf so that others can compare the files to their own.
Best of luck with this.
