[OS X TeX] Selecting a formula

Given a formula between dollar signs, such as $x<2$, is there a way  
in TeXshop, by just clicking somewhere between the dollar signs while  
holding something down

1) to select the formula dollar signs included, e.g. $x<2$

2) to select just the formula that is between the dollar signs, that  
is without the dollar signs. e.g. x<2
