[OS X TeX] Unexpected TS coloring of uncommented text

I noticed the following reproducible quirk in Texshop (2.37):

1. create a comment with a % at the beginning of a line and some text after it:
-------------- next part --------------
A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
Name: 1.png
Type: image/png
Size: 27505 bytes
Desc: not available
URL: <http://email.esm.psu.edu/pipermail/macosx-tex/attachments/20101013/6e9eb20b/attachment.png>
-------------- next part --------------

2. Place the cursor right after the % and hit return: the line is broken but the second line is colored as a comment.
-------------- next part --------------
A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
Name: 2.png
Type: image/png
Size: 28085 bytes
Desc: not available
URL: <http://email.esm.psu.edu/pipermail/macosx-tex/attachments/20101013/6e9eb20b/attachment-0001.png>
-------------- next part --------------

3. Place the cursor on line 4 (or several lines below these comments, it doesn't seem to matter ho many:
-------------- next part --------------
A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
Name: 3.png
Type: image/png
Size: 28040 bytes
Desc: not available
URL: <http://email.esm.psu.edu/pipermail/macosx-tex/attachments/20101013/6e9eb20b/attachment-0002.png>
-------------- next part --------------

4. Back-space to line 3, and voila! Line 2 is not in red any more.

-------------- next part --------------
A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
Name: 4.png
Type: image/png
Size: 27954 bytes
Desc: not available
URL: <http://email.esm.psu.edu/pipermail/macosx-tex/attachments/20101013/6e9eb20b/attachment-0003.png>
-------------- next part --------------

This must have been introduced in the latest version of TS because I don't seem to recall this behavior before.
