I agree. I can go from source -> pdf using cmd-click, but not back the other way. When I cmd-click in the preview window, nothing happens, whether the source file is open or not, and whether the source file is locked or not. So I'm not seeing the same thing as you, but I'm not seeing syncing from preview->source working either.
