This English saying does not comment on the behaviour of physicians but is promotion for apples, the healthy ones, that grow on trees. And there is certainly some truth behind it…

The German translation is also wrong, obviously made by Google. We don't have that saying. A good German approximation would be:

	Ein Apfel am Tag den Doktor erspart.

Which almost rhymes!
