Howdy,
The default encoding for TeXShop has changed so that you will have to 'tell' TeXShop to use MacOSRoman when it reads in your source file. If most/all of you files are in MacOSRoman (applemac for the inputenc package) you can change the default got TeXShop in TeXShop–>Preferences and change the default encoding (BEFORE opening the file) to Western (Mac OS Roman. Alternatively, if you use different encodings in different files, you can open the file with the File->Open dialogue AND THEN place the line
% !TEX encoding = MacOSRoman
Near the top of the file; from then on it will open with MacOSRoman encoding when you double click on the file.
NOTE: DO NOT change or Save the file before doing this or you fill have to get a fresh copy or use File->Revert and revert to its form before the changes were made.
Good Luck,

I looked for but did not find a solution. Probably the magic words have changed. Is there any helping wizard?
