[OS X TeX] Engines in TeXShop

Hi,
there’s something about TeXShop engines I don’t get. I have two versions of biber installed. The regular from TL which is located in /Library/TeX/texbin and a build from GitHub installed at /opt/local/bin/. Since I also use the latest biblatex from GitHub, I need the latter (biber will fail with older versions). I created a biber engine for TeXShop which is in ~/Application Support/TeXShop/Engines/ and which is then available in the popup menu in the TeXShop GUI.
So far so good. What doesn’t work is calling this engine with % !BIB TS-program = biber. When I add this line to a document and then chose BibTeX to typeset the document, biber from /Library/TeX/texbin called and compilation fails since it is not new enough.
For some reason, TeXShop does *not* seem to use the biber engine in ~/Application Support/TeXShop/Engines/ but directly calls /Library/TeX/texbin.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
TIA
Simon
