The regular from TL which is located in /Library/TeX/texbin and a build from GitHub installed at /opt/local/bin/. Since I also use the latest biblatex from GitHub, I need the latter (biber will fail with older versions). I created a biber engine for TeXShop which is in ~/Application Support/TeXShop/Engines/ and which is then available in the popup menu in the TeXShop GUI.

Howdy,

That directive tells TeXShop to use the biber in the TeX Distribution.

You might try to use the line

% !BIB TS-program = /opt/local/bin/biber

and see if that works.

PS: Where did you put the newer biblatex package?

Good Luck,
