On my old machine I had set up TeXShop to open new files in a new tab rather than in a new window (whether I use the File->Open or use Cmd-Opt-O in a file name inside a root document). I am now setting up a new machine and cannot remember how to do this. Suggestions would be very welcome. ==Tamer
