Guillermo,

The location ~/Library/TeXShop/bin/ and its contents are automatically updated with each new version of the program.

You don't say which version of TeXShop you are using. The current version is 4.44. If you have an older version, updating to 4.44 would update latexmk.

Ffor several months TeXShop has been stable and no new versions were released. We don't release a new TeXShop just because latexmk is updated. The current TeXShop sources do indeed have version 4.70b of latexmk.

I happen to know that latexmk has been worked on within the past week,
due to an unfortunate looping behaviour when using the hyperxmp package.

CTAN has: 4.70b 2020-09-29 which is more than a month old.
It may be just the latexmkrc file that needs changing.

hyperxmp certainly has been recently updated because of this.

It may be that further testing is being done before new updates are committed to CTAN.

Hope this helps.

Ross

So when will TeXShop be updated again? I suspect the answer is next Tuesday around noon. That is because Apple has an "event" scheduled Tuesday at 10:00 Pacific Standard Time.

TeXShop 4.49 has support for Big Sur and universal binaries.

Hello.

When using

% !TEX TS-program = pdflatexmk

TeXShop says

Latexmk: This is Latexmk, John Collins, 18 June 2019, version: 4.65.

which is an old version.

I have found it in

~/Library/TeXShop/bin/tslatexmk/latexmk

and I wonder why it is there and not updated.

Should I delete the folder ~/Library/TeXShop? Would opening TeXShop create a fresh version of this folder?

(I also have latexmk in /Library/TeX/texbin/latexmk, which is a symbolic link to
/usr/local/texlive/2020/texmf-dist/scripts/latexmk/latexmk.pl<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/tzA0CwV1jpSOpPQ0hVMh2F?domain=urldefense.com>
and is version 4.70b.)

Thanks in advance,

Guillermo
