[OS X TeX] how insert copyright symbol into source file in TeXShop?

Hi, Murray.

This may or may not be of help, and probably you know all this already.

In the System Preferences, there is a Language a& Region menu item. (Looks like the UN flag, sort of.)

You can add whatever languages you like (I have Russian and Greek). It puts a flag of the current language in the menu bar:





If you then select with the flag the item shown, “Show Emojis and Symbols”, you can find under letter symbols a variety of copyright signs, which 
you can cut and paste in the source as the copyright symbol.
