Brian,
Thanks for the email. TeXShop 5.57 is the “current release of TeXShop
for Tahoe”, but it is actually almost a year out of date and no longer recommended
for Tahoe.
Instead, go to my web site, https://pages.uoregon.edu/koch/
and read the first two links. The top link leads to the current TeXShop web page,
which has a special tab for Tahoe, but that tab is out of date and should be ignored.
The second link on my home page is a link to “TeXShop on macOS Golden Gate”.
This link leads to a page about TeXShop on macOS 27.0, currently in beta. Indeed
very recently Apple introduced a public beta for this system. Programs compiled
on macOS 27.0 run on Sonoma, Sequoia, Tahoe, and Golden Gate. When
TeXShop runs on Golden Gate, it has a few bugs, as explained on that web site.
I compiled TeXShop on Golden Gate, macOS 27, and sent the program to Apple to
be notarized. At the bottom of the “TeXShop on macOS Golden Gate” web page
you can find links to the full source code for this version, and the notarized version
by Apple.
And now the key point. I have two machines, one running the latest version
of Tahoe, and one running the public beta of Golden Gate. If you are on Tahoe
and download TeXShop-5.58-GG from the “TeXShop on macOS Golden Gate” web
site, then you will get the very latest version of TeXShop, but running on Tahoe rather
than on Golden Gate. ALL OF THE GG BUGS VANISH WHEN THE PROGRAM IS
RUN ON TAHOE! This means that the bugs are not in my code, or in XCode, but
instead in macOS 27.0 itself.
So switch to TeXShop-5.58-GG on Tahoe. It is a more recent version of TeXShop
than the 577 version you are using, it has the new dark mode described on the web
page, and it definitely fixes your problem with the three possible Find Panels (because
I checked before writing).
I actually recommend that everyone on Tahoe switch to TeXShop-5.58-GG.

Report Suspicious
Hi,
Using TeXShop 5.57 on my MacMini 4 with latest Tahoe 26.5.2,
for some reason the pdf window top right search panel no longer appears, as before.
Tried all 3 Find Panel settings: Apple Find Panel, Apple Find Bar and OgreKit Find panel.
None work after restart.
Advice would be much appreciated.
Best regards
Brian Coleman
ps: I mention again how much I appreciate the wonderful horizontal split screen function I learnt of by chance,
Its fantastic for editing a 200 page book (on a wide monitor).
