[OS X Emacs] OT: ODF converter for Mac

This is definitely far off-topic, but I was hoping someone familiar with 
open source issues might be able to point me in the right direction:  I'm 
considering proposing that my institution use ODF format as its standard, 
but there is concern that well-entrenched users of Mac versions of 
Microsoft may not have the ability to read or write ODF documents via 
their Microsoft software.  There is a plugin (by Sun) that gives *Windows* 
users this ability -- does anyone know of an analogous Mac plugin?
