Clearly a bug.

When you get it, make a bug report with the Help->Diagnose bug reporting function, because that shows the last few inputs.

AFTERWARDS, try toggling CUA mode (M-x cua-mode RET).

This should be fixed, so if you find out more, info would be appreciated.
