[OS X Emacs] latex-aquamacs-greek characters

well I' m not a unix expert 

sorry I had the impression that you just enter the variable' s name and you get the result

like for example $PATH, 

anyway 

I tried that and the terminal returned a > prompt instead of the normal one - no idea what to do next..
