[OS X Emacs] Auctex and delete-selection-mode

Hello,
Is there any incompatibility between Auctex and delete-selection-mode or any bug in the latest nightly build (GNU Emacs 24.0.50.3 (i386-apple-darwin9.8.0, NS apple-appkit-949.54) of 2011-05-02 on braeburn.aquamacs.org - Aquamacs Distribution 3.xdev)?

I do not appreciate cua-mode and prefer delete-selection-mode (with transient-mark-mode). I am able to set it as default for every tested mode except for autex buffers where transient-mark-mode works but not delete-selection-mode.
