[OS X TeX] Line thickness in TeXShop preview (and Preview.app) on Tiger

I have always had something like this. I am still using 1.35e running 
under 10.3.9. Some horizontal lines look sharp, some look a bit out of 
focus and grey. Thought t'was the way t'was spozed to be.
