Which version of KOMA are you using? The LOG file should tell a few
details ...
The size of the margins and the text area is controlled by the DIV
option.
As a reference for comparisons of the proper font size(s) try to
compile three documents with standard LaTeX classes (article, and in
12pt, 11pt, and empty, which is default 10pt).
