Howdy,

Try running

updmap --disable mtpro2.map

and when that;s finished

updmap --enable Map mtpro2.map

I'm afraid that once you run the plain updmap the map file from that  
will take precedence over the system-wide map file produced by updmap- 
sys. Also the -H option will NOT let updmap-sys to look inside your  
personal texmf tree so you should run without the -H option if you  
want updmap-sys to ``see'' your personal texmf tree (where your  
mtpro2.map file resides).

If you want to use the system wide map file remove the ~/.texlive2008  
directory.
