Howdy,
I really don't see how MacTeX-2021 (which installs a full TeX Live 2021) could give rise to Fayeed's problems.
Note that macOS 11 uses zsh as its default shell so that might be a problem with the commands he is using. I am too used to bash so have set that as the shell to use. Unfortunately you then get an annoying message at startup of Terminal but there is a small addition to the profile that gets rid of that too and a link to that command is given in the message.
